ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman women's lacrosse (0-4,1-3) fell to Denison (4-2) 16-6 at Wilson Field Monday evening.
Ada Carr led the team with two goals on the evening while
Annika Carlson led the way with four ground balls.
The Panthers kept the game close in the first half, trailing just 5-3. In the third quarter, Denison netted 10 goals. Mary Martinson (4), Maddy Chase (3) and Anna Devuono (3) all combined for 10 of the teams 16 total goals.
Chapman came back to life, netting another three goals while holding the Big Red to just one goal and two shots throughout the entire final quarter. In the fourth, Carr,
Madi Escobar and
Ava Regan all netted goals in back-to-back sequences.
Defensively, freshman goalie
Madelyn Kuhnlein had 14 saves on 30 total shot attempts. The Panthers caused 13 turnovers and secured 16 ground balls.
Chapman will look to regain momentum on Wednesday, Mar. 19 as they host Whitman College at 11 a.m. PT at Wilson Field.
