Men's and Women's golf each place sixth at SCIAC #1

ORANGE, Calif.— The Chapman Women's and Men's golf teams competed at the SCIAC 1 tournament hosted by Occidental College over the weekend where they each placed sixth in the two day competition. 

On the women's end, Ella Michitsch tied for a 17th place finish going four over on the second round of play while golfing a 76. Nika Gholami finished tied for 23rd place going seven over while hitting a 79 in the second round. Lillie Dayton placed 30th while hitting an 84 and going +12. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps finished first at the end of the tournament. 

On the men's side, Conner Conley and Ben Soicher tied for seventh, as both athletes hit a -2 overall for the weekend. Conley shot a 66 and was -6 while Soicher shot a 69 and went -2. after the first day of competition, the men's team was leading the entire tournament.

Clay Yarbro shot a 72 and hit even for the tournament tying for 16th place. Cormack Meldrum finished 30th with a score of +5 for the weekend while shooting a 77. Lastly, Vinny Fanucchi finished 32nd while shooting a 74. By the end of the second day of competition, the Men's team had dropped to sixth in the tournament. Redlands ended up finishing on top on. 

Overall, the Panthers will now look to gear up Kingsmen Invite March 10-11 at Cal Lutheran.
