ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University swim & dive teams head to the 2025 SCIAC Swimming & Diving Championships at East LA College on Feb. 19-22. Both Panther teams placed third last year and look to continue to contend toward the top of the conference.
Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson will look to capture her first career SCIAC title as she leads the conference in the 200 fly with a time that should have her also qualified for the NCAA Championships in March.
Alyssa Kooy,
Avery Hall and
Tatum Chambers also enter the championship meet in position to lead Chapman in the sprint freestyle event. All three rank among the top swimmers in the SCIAC in both events – potentially giving Chapman three scorers.
All five Panther relay teams also head into SCIACs ranked third in the conference and will look for podium finishes in each event to boost the Panthers in the team standings.
The Low Tops' 200 free relay team enters the meet on the bubble of an NCAA Championships bid. The Panthers currently rank among the top-20 but will look to secure Chapman's first-ever relay bid by dropping some time on Thursday. Chapman ranks ahead of CMS heading into the championship by just a quarter of a second and could capture the first relay victory in Chapman history.
The solid relay team is built by four exceptional sprinters that all rank among the top-12 in the SCIAC in the 50 free.
Simon Jacobs leads the way with the second-best 50 free time and fifth-best 100 time in the SCIAC. Trenton Calloway ranks third in the 100 and ninth in the 50 with
Max Polovinkin ranking sixth in both the 50 free and 100 breast.
Reigning SCIAC Diver of the Year
Jake Randazzo will again challenge for a SCIAC title on both diving boards with All-American
Reid Omilian also looking to finish atop the podium.
McKenzie Abbott will lead the High Tops on the diving boards.
Diving opens the meet on Wednesday with the women's 3-meter and men's 1-meter. Swimming competition begins with the 200 medley and 800 free relays. Swimming continues on Thursday with 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 200 free relay and the women's diving competition concludes on the 1-meter board.
Friday's schedule includes the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 back and 400 medley relay as well as the men's 3-meter diving. The meet concludes on Saturday with the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1650 free and 400 free relay
