ORANGE, Calif. — Chapman tennis competed and showed flashes at the Fall ITA Tournament hosted up in Claremont, Calif.
In the women's singles,
Gwenn Ricordel led the way winning the consolation title against UC Santa Cruz's Callie Tzab.
Sofiya Khegay followed suit earning a spot in the Flight B Consolation Finals. Khegay managed to pull off two consecutive wins over Occidental College and Cal Lutheran to make it to the finals. She ended up falling to Macy Garwood of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
In the women's doubles,
Lucy Wallin and
Chloe McBride defeated Redlands duo Helaina Reynoso and Hadley Allaria in the first round off a tiebreaker 8-7. Then, sister duo
Makaylee Dahms and
Malina Dahms defeated Eve Laurent and Sofia Ganshirt, also from Redlands, 8-4 in their opening round.
In the men's singles division,
Seif El Salawy won three straight singles matches making it all the way to Flight C semi-finals.
Ben Jorgenson then followed suit winning two straight matches in Flight B.
Finally, in the men's doubles division,
Lachlan Dickinson and Jorgenson managed to squeak out a close victory over Colorado College 8-7 in Flight A.
Ian Jordan and
Matthew Dewey narrowly fell 6-8 in the first round to Pomona-Pitzer.
The ITA Tournament wraps up competition for women's and men's tennis in the fall before their season begins again in Spring 2026.
