Men's soccer snaps skid with 2-0 win

ORANGE, Calif. –The Chapman University men's soccer team to a much-needed 2-0 victory over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at Wilson Field. The Panthers snapped a seven-match winless streak and captured their first SCIAC victory.

Jonah Friang and Reed Leidlein scored to lift the Panthers. Friang's goal came in the 28th minute when he buried a through ball from Cooper Haley. Leidlein added the insurance in the 78th minute as a bouncing ball in the box fell to his feet and he did not miss the opportunity to find the back of the net.

Alex Glynn posted his first clean sheet of the year, making three saves to keep the Sagehens off the board in an otherwise evenly played match. The Panthers held a slight 8-7 shot advantage while each team earned five corner kicks in the match.

Chapman will look to build off the win as the Panthers are set to host La Verne on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
