Carr's six goals lead women's lacrosse past Pioneers

ORANGE, Calif. – Six goals from Ada Carr led the Chapman University women's lacrosse team to a 21-6 victory over visiting Lewis & Clark in a non-conference contest on Wednesday. The Panthers improved to 6-2 overall with the win.

Olivia Holmes scored just 19 seconds into the match and the Panthers led the rest of the way to get back into the win column on Wednesday. Carr scored her first goal just 35 seconds later as Chapman led 2-0 after the first minute and 10-3 after the first quarter.

In total, 10 different Panthers scored with the defenders getting involved in the scoring as well. Angelina Welsh scored her first career goal on a coast-to-coast breakaway and Sabrina Wachuta tallied her first career point with an assist in the third.

Annika Carlson scored three goals as did Olivia Holmes. Lyndsey Huss scored twice and assisted on two more.

After opening up a 4-0 lead in the first five minutes, the Panthers cruised to the non-conference win. Anna Hereu made six saves in goal for the Panthers. As a team, Chapman outshot the Pioneers 34-16 and forced 22 turnovers while only committing 11.

The Panthers are back in action on April 6 when they host Redlands at 11 a.m. on Wilson Field.
