ORANGE, Calif. — Chapman men's tennis picked up their third win of the season, a 7-2 victory over UC Santa Cruz on Wednesday, March 27.
The Panthers clinched the victory after Mac Caldwell ended things on court five, 6-4, 6-2, earning the decisive fifth point on the afternoon. Andy Hess and Matt Dewey added two more points for good measure – Hess 6-4, 6-3 and Dewey, in the final match, won a tie-breaker 2-6, 6-2, 11-9.
Caleb Wilkins was the lone Panther to take two points with an 8-5 win in doubles alongside Ian Jordan. The duo ranked 12th in the nation is now 5-4 on the season. In singles, he was victorious on the first court, 6-4, 6-2.
Lachlan Dickinson and Ben Jorgenson won third doubles, 8-3, to take a 2-1 lead into singles. Aram Izmirian added one more point for the Panthers, 6-2, 6-0.
Chapman returns to the courts on Thursday, March 28, to take on No. 22 Colby at 1 p.m.
