Men's tennis battles another top-10 opponent

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's tennis team fell 6-3 to No. 8 Williams. The Panthers fell to 2-6 in a busy start to the season that featured seven ranked opponents.

Caleb Wilkins won his fourth match in a row and improved to 7-1 in dual matches with a three-match victory at the top of the singles lineup. Aram Izmirian and Mac Caldwell both won in straight sets.

The eighth-ranked Ephs swept the doubles points to start Chapman's fourth tennis match in the last six days – three of which were against top-10 teams. Williams players went on to win three singles matches in straight sets to clinch the victory.

Chapman heads into a break in the schedule but returns to the Anderson Tennis Center to take on UC Santa Cruz at 1 p.m. on Mar. 27.
