ORANGE, Calif. — McKelary Robertson finished one short of his season high, notching 22 points win a 76-60 victory over Caltech on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
In the much-needed win for the Panthers, now 8-6 overall and 2-3 in SCIAC play, Robertson shot over 50% from the field and was 4-for-7 on threes. The senior guard was the only 20-point scorer on both sides and added four assists and three steals to his ledger.Â
Chapman got off to a hot start, opening the game on a 20-8 run before the first called timeout. The Panthers would grow their first-half lead to 16, but Caltech worked the score back to 37-27 heading into the locker room.
The Beavers would get it as close as nine three minutes into the second, but Chapman secured a 14-6 run at the 12-minute mark, capped off by a Blakeley Stoughton layup, to grow to its biggest lead of the night at 18.
Stoughton was one of three Panthers in double-digits, along with Murphy Caffo, who got the nod to start at the five. He had 12 and six boards.Â
The Panthers return to Hutton on Saturday, Feb. 13, to take on La Verne at 2 p.m.
