Baseball opens Tufts series with shut-out loss

Box Score

ORANGE, Calif. — Baseball dropped game one of a three-game set against Tufts on Friday, March 24, 4-0.

The Panthers gathered nine hits, but were unable to push across any runs in the series opener. AJ Anzai and Cole Minato led off the game with back to back singles, and the Panthers had runners at first and third with only one away, but the Jumbos worked out of the inning.

That set the tone for the remainder of the game as the Panthers would go on to strand eight runners on base.

Tufts' starting pitcher, Connor Kinney, threw a complete game shutout, only the second time the Panthers' offense has been shut out this season.

Chapman, now 10-10, will return to Hart tomorrow to finish out the series with a doubleheader at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
