Baseball ends marathon shootout with win over No. 10 Endicott

Box Score

ORANGE, Calif. — A wild game at Hart Monday, March 13 ended in a 13-11 marathon shootout victory for baseball over No. 10 Endicott, handing the Gulls their first loss of the season.

The Panthers led 10-1 after five innings, but a nine-run sixth inning for Endicott evened things up. Despite the big inning for the Gulls, the Panthers never trailed at any point in the game.

Josh Phillips continued his tear at the plate going 2-for-4 driving in four runs, three on a three-run homer, his fourth of the season. His homerun came in the third and at that point gave Chapman a 7-0 lead.

The bats were on fire all game as Aj Anzai, Cole Minato and Oli Sellman all notched three-hit performances. Anzai and Minato combined to drive in five runs.

Graham Stogner started on the hill for the Panthers and was fantastic. The freshman pitched three no-hit innings, striking out five Gulls. Hank Tobias followed him and despite his line gave Chapman two clean innings with two strikeouts.

Turner White finished things out on the mound earning the win for Chapman. He earns the win now in back-to-back games pitching two innings allowing only one hit striking out two Gulls. Henry Chabot closed the door earning his third save of the season.

Chapman, now 7-8 on the season, will play a three-game set against Whittier this weekend, with a Friday home game and Saturday double header on the road.
