ORANGE, Calif. — Men's basketball knocked down 18 triples en route to an 82-66 victory over the Claremont-M-S Stags.
The Panthers led by as much as 27, dominating the d3hoops.com preseason No. 23 Stags. McKelary Robertson spearheaded the offense, cashing five threes on 56% shooting, finishing with a season-high 23.
Jake Heberle and Blakeley Stoughton also made five from beyond the arc, as the Panthers would shoot 46% from three. Cruz Billings' nine assists set up Chapman's shooting from distance.
Chapman, coming off a 33% shooting night against Occidental on Wednesday, followed it up making 29-of-61 — 47.5%.Â
Four Panthers — Robertson, Stoughton, Heberle and Billings — finished in double figures. Andrew Ingalls added 11 rebounds off the bench and Heberle ended a board short of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.
The Panthers, now 4-2 and 1-1 in SCIAC play, return to Hutton on Thursday, Dec. 7 to take on Stanton at 7 p.m.
