ORANGE, Calif. – The rematch of the 2022 SCIAC Tournament championship match turned in another tightly contested matchup as the Chapman University men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Occidental. The Panthers have tied three straight SCIAC games to move to 1-2-3.
At the midway point of the SCIAC schedule, the Panthers sit in fifth place with six points and trail the fourth place teams by a point.
In his return to the pitch,
Alex Glynn posted a clean sheet for his first solo shutout of the year. In a gme that went back and forth through the midfield, Glynn was forced to make just one save as six of Oxy's seven shots were off target.
The Panthers put four of their nine shots on goal but Occidental's Riley Nyhan came up with four saves to keep the scoreless draw. Chapman fired off six shots in the second half when the Panthers held more possession and were able to get into the attacking third.
The Panthers are on a five-match winless streak, going 0-2-3 since a 1-0 win over CMS on Sep. 16. Hapman returns to the field on Saturday to host Whittier in a matinee soccer doubleheader. The women's teams will match up at 11 a.m. with the men's teams playing at 1:30 p.m.
