ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's water polo team opened the 2026 season with a pair of games at the UCI Invitational. Chapman took on UC Irvine and Biola, falling in both matches.
The Panthers opened with a tough opponent in the nation's 13th-ranked team, UC Irvine. They fell 29-4 in the opening game of the season. Freshman Seneca Wahab-Holles scored the first goal of the season for the Panthers.
Chapman returned in the afternoon to take on Biola but fell 15-11. Biola jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter and the teams traded short runs the rest of the way.
Tyler Bird, Jack Baker and Isaac Solberg each scored two goals to lead the Panthers and Alex Cacos made eight saves in goal.
The Panthers head to Maryland next week for the Navy Open Tournament. They will face Austin College, LIU, Johns Hopkins and George Washington.
