ORANGE, Calif. — Five men's and women's basketball players have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. In order to qualify for the team, athletes need to meet certain requirements for grade point averages, competing in a certain percentage of the total games played among a few other strict qualifications. 

Women's basketball players Aidan Sherfey, Makena Nitao and Layla Woods have been named to the team. On the men's side, Scott Schulz and Luke Farrington have been named to the team. 

Sherfey is a senior who started every game of her final season as Panther. Nitao was first player off the bench of almost every single game for the Panthers and Woods made headlines as one of the program's leading scorers and a member of the All-SCIAC team for the second consecutive season. 

Schulz is a junior forward who started nearly every game this season for the Panthers. Farrington is a senior who transferred into Chapman, and immediately became a starting guard for a team that went all the way to the SCIAC Tournament Championship game. 

Both the women's and men's programs made it to the SCIAC Tournament in 2026.
