ORANGE, Calif. –The Chapman University men's tennis team jumped back into the win column with a 6-1 win over visiting Colorado College on Saturday. The Panthers swept the doubles and won five singles matches in straight sets.
The match started with a pair of 6-1 win from the top and bottom of the doubles lineup. Aram Izmirian and Ben Jorgenson earned the win at the top while Matthew Dewey and Sief El Salawy earned the win at the bottom of the lineup.
Ian Jordan and James Krantz completed the sweep with a 6-4 win. Jordan went on to clinch the match with a 6-2, 6-2 singles victory in the No. 3 match.
Izmirian cruised to a 6-0, 6-4 win at the top of the singles lineup while Ben Jorgenson followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win. Colorado College earned its only point on the No. 5 court before Dewey and Adrian D'Aoust finished off the dominant team win with straight set victories.
Chapman continues on its stretch of three matches in three days with a 10 a.m. match against Middlebury on Sunday. The women's team will follow at 2 p.m. against Whitworth.
