Box Score ORANGE, Calif. — In their fourth and final game of the weekend, Chapman dominated against U Chicago, winning 9-1 at home Sunday afternoon. Chapman had 19 hits on the day to go along with the nine runs. Seven of said runs came in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings.
Joey Capobianco led the way for the day offensively, going up for five at bats, getting five hits, scoring three runs and an RBI. Immediately following him,
Ryan Nopper had four hits of his own, two runs and an RBI. Joining in the group,
Nick Molina had two hits and four RBI, and
Briggs Ellis had a run along with three hits.
Pitching wise,
Finean Hunter-Kenney and
Jacob Moreda closed out the game for the Panthers in the last six innings. Hunter-Kenney played the middle three innings getting a couple strikeouts while the Maroons to their one and only run. Moreda came in and finished off the game, striking out three while also giving up zero runs.
Chapman now goes to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in SCIAC play. They will return home Saturday and Sunday Mar. 7-8 to host Lewis & Clark for back-to-back double headers
