Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer dominates opening week games

PORTLAND, Ore.— Women's soccer traveled up to the Pacific Northwest to start off the 2025 campaign where they dominated defeating Lewis & Clark College 3-0 and Pacific University 2-1.

W, 2-1 vs. Pacific University
Chapman came out firing on all cylinders in their season debut, as senior star Jenna Urrabazo netted the first goal 26 minutes into the game off an assist by freshman forward Delaney Kitchens. Urrabazo returns after netting three goals along with seven assists in 2024.

Jana Komposch netted her own goal midway through the second half, giving the Panthers a lead they would never relinquish. The senior has appeared in 31 total games, her first goal of her senior season, is the second of her career. The Panthers dominated in almost every major statistical category including recording 18 shots and four corner kicks for the game.

Newly minted head coach TJ Perez also picked up his first career victory at Chapman.

W, 3-0 vs. Lewis & Clark
Nikki Zokaei led the way for the Panthers in the win, netting two of the team's three goals and assisting on the third one. The sophomore scored both goals late in the second half just under 10 minutes apart from each other. On the first goal, Alexis Sweeney assisted Zokaei and Andrea DiVitorrio assisted on the second goal.

Sweeney also netted the first goal of the game at the 40 minute mark, inversely assisted by Zokaei along with Ella Tovar. The Panthers recorded 25 total shots, with 17 of them coming in the second half of action.

Chapman returns to Orange to make their home debut on Wilson Field against Milwaukee School of Engineering on Friday, Sept. 5.
