ORANGE, Calif. — Chapman baseball celebrated senior day in front of one of their biggest crowds of the season as the wrapped up their series against University of Redlands at home. The Panthers ended up falling in both games to the Bulldogs 11-1 in the first game and 6-1 in the second game.

Josh Phillips recorded a solo home run in the first game while fellow senior outfielder
Blake Beckley recorded his first home run of his career in the second game. In the first game, Chapman gave up five runs in the first two innings then managed to keep Redlands at bay until the top of the sixth inning. In the second game, the Panthers gave up just one run through the first four innings. By game's end,
Finean Hunter-Kenney stuck out four batters of the 10 he faced.
Chapman celebrated seniors: Bl. Beckley, Phillips,
Brennan Beckley,
Blake Wittman,
Austin Dudas,
Brad Lang and
Thomas Golbranson. In the secound game, Bl. Beckley poured on a career best three hits, while junior
Matt Cristol had another two hits. In the first game, Phillips and Cristol had two hits, while
Charlie Sturm and
Ryan Nopper recorded one hit each.
Chapman will look to bounce back from the series loss as they face off against University of La Verne April 25-26. On Friday, April 25, Chapman will head on the road for game one, and on the 26th, the Panthers will host La Verne at 11 and 2:30 p.m.
