ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman baseball fell at home 13-2 to La Verne in seven innings Friday afternoon at home.
Designated hitter
Matt Cristol hit a home run in the first inning while
Josh Phillips scored off a an RBI single by
Nate Jensen in the seventh inning. La Verne ended up going on a scoring run putting away eight runs from the second inning through the fourth inning to give them a lead they would never relinquish.
Chapman Pitcher
Henry Chabot started the game and struck out three batters.
Colin Godfrey and
Jordan Kingston also pitched striking out four total runners between the two of them.
The Panthers will look to regain momentum as they head on the road to play against La Verne on Saturday in a double header at 11 and 2:30 p.m.
