Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Gabrielle Ducharme

Men's Basketball celebrates five seniors ahead of final game

Orange, Calif.— Men's basketball celebrated senior night Saturday evening back home at the Hutton Sports Center to wrap up their 2024-25 season. Dominick Saccacio, Christian Bood, Murphy Caffo, Adam Damian and Blakeley Stoughton all played in their final game for Chapman.

The Panthers ended up falling 74-63 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a scrappy hard fought match-up. All five seniors started the game in honor of their special night. Many contributed strongly including Stoughton who Bood who had six points and Saccacio who had five points. Caffo contributed another nine rebounds along with six points while Damian who had three steals and three rebounds.

Chapman paid homage to a group of seniors ushering in a new era of basketball. Head Coach Dan Krikorian took over the program just under one year ago and the future looks bright for his young squad.

Freshmen Joe Keegan and TJ O'Brien played crucial minutes down the stretch of the game. Keegan put up five points while O'Brien, who backs up starting point guard Cruz Billings, made crucial hustle plays down the stretch. As the Panthers were trailing late, both freshman maintained their intensity no matter the final score.

CMS's AJ Rohosy proved too much to handle for the Panthers wracking up 20 points and 12 rebounds for the game. The six-foot-nine center was virtually unstoppable down low going 7/10 from the field while also collecting five offensive rebounds.

Despite the 2024-25 season coming to an end for men's basketball, the future remains bright. Krikorian will enter year two with two of his five starters returning, Billings and Jake Heberle. If all goes according to plan, the six freshmen from this year's team will also get an opportunity to step up big for what will be a much young squad.
