ORANGE, Calif.— Chapman men's water polo earned a massive win over Cal Lutheran 14-12 at home Wednesday evening behind three goals from All-American
Davin Castillo.
In what was a must-win game for the Panthers, Chapman showed up big. They jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter and secured a lead they would never relinquish.
Sammy Hendrickson,
Nathan Jones and
Isaac Solberg also added another two goals each. Chapman is currently hanging around between fifth and sixth in the SCIAC standings with Cal Lutheran. The Panthers are now 3-4 in conference play and 8-14 overall.
Defensively, starting goalkeeper
Jackson Sanders recorded another 10 saves. The starting goalkeeper has 105 saves on the season despite missing a few games early on due to injury. Castillo also added another four assists while Franks recorded a game high three steals.
Following the massive conference win, Chapman will look to continue their momentum as they head to Whittier College on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
