ORANGE, Calif. — In a battle for first place in the SCIAC, Chapman men's soccer defeated Pomona-Pitzer 1-0 at home.
Senior
Dylan Paine netted a goal off a breakaway eight minutes into second half. It was Paine's first goal of the season. The game was defined by close calls, both teams matching each other's speed and energy.
Senior star goalkeeper
Alex Glynn took control of the defensive end, recording his third shut of the season. Glynn came up with a huge save by going head-to-head with Pomona-Pitzer's offense. He snatched the ball mid-air coming across the box from a corner kick. The save proved quintessential for the Panthers to secure victory. Glynn made seven saves overall.
Chapman will look to continue their winning streak, as they lead the SCIAC halfway through conference play. They will play next at the University of Redlands on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
