ORANGE, Calif. - The Chapman University women's soccer team fell 4-2 at home to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps despite a second half lead.
Junior Sydney Karjian headed the Panthers' standout goal off an assist from senior
Jenna Urrabazo, shortly into the second half bringing the score 1-1. Six minutes later, Urrabazo found the back of the net herself after earning a penalty kick and burying the opportunity.
Despite the Panthers hard work, CMS was able to swing momentum in the final 20 minutes of the game, scoring three goals from Jordan Yates, Cate Lewison, and Preslie Lampitt to take a 4-2 lead.
Proving their offensive determination, the Panthers fired a total of 13 shots from seven different players. Senior keeper
Bella Barretto saved eight CMS shots throughout the game, anchoring the Panthers defense.
Chapman will look to bounce back this weekend, facing off against UC Santa Cruz for their homecoming game Saturday Oct. 4 at 11 a.m.
