ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's basketball team emphatically snapped its five-game skid with an 89-50 win over visiting La Verne on Wednesday. A lengthy run in the first half opened the lead and sparked the blowout victory.

Chapman raised its level on both ends of the floor, shooting an efficient 60 percent in the first half and 56.7 percent for the game. Blakeley Stoughton's 22 points led the way with Jake Heberle pouring in 20 points on the strength on six three-pointers.
Stoughton set the tone for his night early with a one-handed dunk over a defender and went on to shoot-10-of-13 on the night. He was 8-of-8 from two-point range and knocked down a pair of three-pointers in addition to coming away with three steals. In his first start, Nygle Williams scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds with a huge block on the defensive end.
