ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over visiting Cal Lutheran on Tuesday. The Panthers swept all six singles matches to move to 6-8 overall and 2-2 in the SCIAC.
Aram Izmirian won both his doubles and singles matches to lead the Panthers to their second consecutive win. Izmirian and
Kameron DeHart won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles while Izmirian won a three-setter at No. 4 singles. The Panthers also took an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
Matthew Dewey,
Mac Caldwell and
Danny Marsh each won in straight sets to quickly clinch the team victory.
Caleb Wilkins followed with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 1 and
Andy Hess completed the singles sweep with a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) comeback win at No. 2.
The Panthers continue a busy week at Occidental on Friday and No. 1 CMS on Saturday before wrapping up the regular season against Whittier next Tuesday.
