ORANGE, Calif. — Women's water polo opened the 2024 season with a loss to Cal St. Fullerton at home on Friday, Frb. 9, 14-7.
The Panthers played a solid first half, leading 6-5 heading into the break. Georgina Burton was stout in goal collecting seven saves in her two quarters played.
In the first half, the Panthers were led by Riley Eaves, who scored three goals. Eaves and Alyssa Fricker combined for five of Chapman's seven goals. Freshman Kendall Pappan scored the first goal of her career in the second quarter to give Chapman a 5-4 lead.
Cal St. Fullerton took an 8-6 lead into the fourth quarter and pulled away from there.Â
Chapman returns to the pool next Friday in Erie, Penn. for a five-game slate.
