This one was back-and-forth all game. The Panthers led, however, at the end of each quarter. Chapman took a 27-26 advantage into the locker room in part by Aidan Sherfey's plus-four to lead all Panthers. She ended the day with eight points, six rebounds and four assists.Â
Chapman added a point to their lead, 48-46, heading into the fourth, and Chapman led by only three with 2:53 left in the game. The Panthers went on a 9-3 run to close out the contest, aided by six Nitao free throws and a Layla Woods jumper that proved to be the dagger.
Chapman returns to the court next Saturday, Feb. 17, when they take on La Verne in The Tents at 4 p.m. with a trip to the SCIAC tournament possibly on the line.Â
