12/7/2024 4:11:00 PM

Orange, Calif.— The Chapman Panthers welcomed in the University of San Diego for a duel meet Saturday afternoon. The day began with the diving portion and ended with swimming.

During the diving portion, Gracie-Anne Fraunfelder scored 429.25 points on the three meter springboard while McKenzie Abbott put up 396.85 points on the one meter springboard. On the men's side, Reid Omilian scored 540.0 points on both the one and three meter springboards.

The men's swim team held their own inter squad meet since USD does not have a men's team. Standout races included Trent Calloway, Max Polovinkin, James Galligan and Riley Coleman. Callaway recorded a 21.15 in his 50 yard freestyle. Polovinkin recorded a 21.24 in his own 50 freestyle. Galligan recorded a 48.18 during his 100 yard free style and Coleman went a 21.38 in his 50 yard race.

On the women's side, Kiana Tanizaki-Hudson earned an NCAA B-Cut in 200 yard butterfly going a 2:02.91. Additionally, Alyssa Kooy earned a 54.02 in the 100 yard freestyle while Cora Buelow went a 59.06 in the 100 yard backstroke.

Overall, the Panthers showed flashes of greatness against USD, and will look to continue building on that momentum in 2025.
