Box Score Redlands, Calif.— The Chapman men's water polo team just clinched their first appearance in the Division III national title game in program history. After securing a tight win over Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) 12-11 Saturday afternoon, the Panthers will play Sunday afternoon in the title game.
Nate Randolph netted five goals to lead all scorers, while
Everett Prussak and
Christian Gotterup contributed two goals each to carry the offensive load for the Panthers.
Goalkeeper
Jackson Sanders also poured in eight goals of his own while recording a save percentage of 41 percent on the day. Offensively, the Panthers has a score percentage of 41.4 percent.
In the final period of play, the Panthers held MIT to just one goal for the entire quarter, stepped up defensively when they needed it the absolute most to clinch the biggest victory of their season so far.
No matter the results, the Panthers will play their final game of the season against the University of Redlands on Dec. 8, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. in Redlands, Calif.
