ORANGE, Calif.— In a crucial conference match up, Chapman (12-12, 6-3) dominated over La Verne (7-18, 2-7) 20-12 at home Saturday morning. Senior
Nate Randolph led the Panthers offensively, netting six of the team's 20 goals and absolutely dominating the attack.
Sophomore attacker
Davin Castillo led the Panthers defensively, with four steals on the game, which helped to fuel a strong third quarter where Chapman put away seven goals to take a massive lead they would never relinquish. Offensively, Castillo also contributed majorly with four goals of his own.
Collectively, the Panthers made 50 percent of their shots while holding La Verne to just under 35 percent shooting. In the first and fourth quarters, the Panthers held the Leopards to just two goals per quarter while also stifling them on the offensive end scoring a combined nine goals in that same span of time.
Chapman goalkeeper
Jackson Sanders protected the net smoothly the entire game, earning 12 saves. La Verne sophomore Jordan Baker led all Leopard scorers with four goals. Overall, the Panthers stifled the rest of La Verne's offensive attack.
Chapman will look to maintain this momentum, as they play at Occidental College on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
