ORANGE, Calif. – A pair of early goals proved to be enough as the Chapman University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to visiting UC Santa Cruz in a non-conference matchup on Saturday. The Panthers fell to 3-4-2 on the season.
UC Santa Cruz scored its first goal less than 10 minutes into the match and added insurance six minutes later to complete the scoring for the match. The Panthers fired off 11 shots but put only three on goal while the Banana Slugs took eight shots.
In her Chapman debut,
Sienna Gomez made one save.
The Panthers are back on Wilson Field on Wednesday as they jump back into SCIAC play with a 4 p.m. match against Occidental.
