ORANGE, Calif. —Shanna Brown picked up her second double-double in as many games as women's hoops rolled to their third-straight win, 76-60, over Caltech on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
Brown led the Panthers with 19 points, 11 boards, and four assists on 53% shooting from the field and 60% from three. Her three triples were a career-high.
The Panthers took control early and built their lead throughout. An 18-12 first quarter headlined by six of Makenna Nitao's 13 points gave the Panthers a strong early advantage. They held the same lead heading into the half, but coming out of the locker room, Chapman stepped on the gas pedal, outsourcing Caltech 22-9 in the frame.
Chapman opened the third on a 13-4 run, helped by the Panthers stout offensive rebounding. The Panthers snagged 16 boards from the offensive glass to the Beavers' seven, out-rebounding Caltech 44-31 overall.Â
Chapman won the turnover battle 24-19 and showed solid ball movement, collecting 20 assists.Â
The Panthers return to the floor on Saturday, Feb. 3, when they travel to Claremont-M-S to take on the Athenas at 4 p.m.
