ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's water polo team took control early and cruised to a 21-15 win over visiting La Verne on Saturday. Spencer Snow led the Panthers with four goals as Chapman improved their record to over .500 for the first time this season.
After starting the season 0-5, Chapman has gone on a 7-1 run to improve to 7-6 on the year and 3-1 in the SCIAC.
Snow scored three of his four goals in the first quarter as Chapman pulled ahead to a 7-4 lead. The offense did not let up as the Panthers scored five more in the second, four in the third, and five in the fourth. Chapman never trailed.
Nate Randolph helped lead the Panthers to the SCIAC with three goals, two assists and four steals on the defensive end. In total, 10 different Panthers scored at least one goal in the match.
Chapman heads to Caltech on Wednesday before returning home next Saturday for a non-conference contest against Concordia at 3 p.m.
