Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Joe Perrino

Women's soccer dominates Redlands

ORANGE, Calif. — Women's soccer earned a much needed victory over Redlands, 2-0, rocketing off 37 shots, outlasting the Bulldogs' defense.

The Action

Although the score was tied 0-0 heading into the half, the Panthers had already put 14 shots on goal and were poised to find the back of the net.

Jenna Urrabazo took care of business scoring the eventual game-winner in the 57th minute. That goal marked her seventh of the season, a new career high after scoring six in her debut campaign last season.

First-year Sidney Karjian, who is having a great start to her Chapman career, added another goal later in the second, both goals were assisted by Alyssa Hernandez. Karjian's goal was her third of the season.

Playoff Picture

Chapman was oh-so-close to clinching a spot in the tournament as Pomona-Pitzer led Occidental into the final minutes of their contest, but Oxy tied it up, staying alive heading into the final Saturday of the regular season.

Chapman sits in third, but will likely fall to fourth once Claremont-M-S closes out their game with Cal Lutheran, leading 2-0.

The Panthers are three points ahead of fifth place Occidental. The Tigers, 4-4-3 in SCIAC play, will travel to Caltech on Saturday, Oct. 28. Chapman, 5-3-3 in SCIAC play, will travel to Cal Lutheran the same day. A win, tie, or Occidental loss put Chapman in the postseason.
