ORANGE, Calif. — After getting swept by the Regals in three consecutive meetings, women's volleyball took them down 3-1— 25-18, 25-15, 22-25, 25-22 — on Saturday, Oct. 21.
Julin Kenison led the way with 15 kills and Marly Johnson finished with 12 kills as the only other Panther in double-digits.
Chapman took a commanding 2-0 set lead after winning the second 25-15. A 9-3 run to open the set behind some great play at the net by Gabby Carbonel and Hannah Callahan to notch a key block forcing a Regal timeout.
Olivia Sampson followed that up with three kills in four points to extend Chapman's lead in the set to nine.
While Cal Lutheran would salvage the third set, the Panthers bounced right back winning the decisive fourth game.
With the victory, women's volleyball improved to 8-12 on the season and 4-7 in SCIAC play. The Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday in Whittier to take on the Poets at 7 p.m.
