Wernicke tallies four points in 4-1 win

ORANGE, Calif. — Women's soccer won by three for the second straight time, besting Caltech 4-1 on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

Pilar Vanheusden got things started on a corner kick. She headed the pass from Jenna Urrabazo into the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season.

Urrabazo connected on one of her own eight minutes later. The sophomore's fifth goal of the season came on a double assist from McKenzie Wernicke and Pilar Vanheusden. From the right side of the box, Urrabazo snuck one in just inside the left post.

Chapman headed into the locker room leading 2-0 and tacked on a pair of scores in the second half. Sidney Karjian knocked in her second goal in as many games off another Wernicke assist in a fashion similar to Urrabazo's goal.

Five minutes later, Wernicke decided to be selfish and score herself. She notched her first goal of the season.

Chapman (4-3-4, 3-3-2) returns to Wilson Field on Saturday, Oct. 14 to take on UC Santa Cruz at 11 a.m.
