Women's soccer falls to UCSC

ORANGE, Calif. — Women's soccer dropped a non-conference home game to UC Santa Cruz 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The equalizer came in the middle of the second half, when a free kick found its way into the box, bounced around the defense and found its way of a Banana Slug cleat into the back of the net.

Chapman had a few opportunities to tie late in the game and take a lead early on.

Most notably a costly miss on an open shot in the first half off the foot of Casey Gilligan, and a Jenna Urrabazo free kick that just missed the left post.

Chapman will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at home against Redlands.
