Amanda Hansen

Amanda Hansen joined the Chapman softball coaching staff for the 2024-25 school year. She was most recently an Assistant Coach at Occidental College for the 2024 season..

Prior to her year at Oxy, Hansen served as an Assistant Coach at Cal State Bakersfield for the 2023 season. Hansen's coaching journey has taken her through various levels of the softball world, including stints as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at American River College (2020), an Athlete Retention Technician and Volunteer Assistant Coach at Mesa Community College (2021), and a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Golden West College (2022). Notably, during her tenure at Golden West College, Hansen played a pivotal role in the development of Rustler pitchers, facilitating significant improvements in their performance metrics and dropping their ERAs by four points or more compared to their 2021 results.

During her collegiate career at Long Beach State (2012-2015), Hansen played a pivotal role in the team's success, helping lead the Beach to a 2014 Big West title. Her outstanding performance on the field earned her First Team All-Big West honors in the circle, where she showcased her prowess with a 19-8 record, including 13 complete games, six shutouts, and 82 strikeouts in a single season.

Over four seasons at LBSU, Hansen compiled impressive statistics, boasting a career 3.90 ERA over 395.0 innings pitched, along with 195 strikeouts, nine shutouts, and 29 complete games. Upon completing her eligibility, Hansen seamlessly transitioned into the coaching realm, balancing her pursuit of a degree with her role as an Undergraduate Assistant Coach at Long Beach State.

A native of San Diego, Hansen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience centered around a playing and coaching career spent in southern California.
