Jason Willman '22

Willman enters his first year as the first full-time assistant coach in program history, and his second year on the coaching staff after serving as a volunteer coach for the Panthers during the 22-23 season.

During Willman’s first season as a volunteer coach with the Panthers swim and dive team, the team saw immense growth, with the team setting a record 39 school records on the season and the men’s team placing 4th in the SCIAC, the highest ever finish for the men in program history by two places. The women’s team defeated Pomona-Pizer in a dual meet for the first time in program history, and the men’s team defeated California Lutheran and Redlands in their respective dual meets and at the SCIAC championship meet for the first time ever in Willman’s first year on the coaching staff.

A Chapman University alumnus, Willman competed for the Chapman Swim and dive team for three years. He served as captain during the 2020-21 season and was named to the SCIAC All-Academic team for the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons.

Prior to attending Chapman University, Willman attended and swam for Mt. San Antonio College for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. During his time at Mt SAC, Willman garnered All-American status, and was awarded the Academic All-State award.

During the summer of 2023, Willman served as a counselor and coach for the Longhorn Swim and Dive Camps at the University of Texas in Austin. While in Austin, he worked alongside Olympic swimmers and world-renowned coaches such as Eddie Reese, Carol Capitani, Wyatt Collins, Mitch Dalton, and Matt Scoggin.

Willman also works as a swim coach at the Golden West Swim Club in Huntington Beach.
