RIVERSIDE, Calif.— The Chapman University women's and men's cross country programs competed at the UC Riverside XC Invite Saturday afternoon. Gavin White led the way for the men's side who finished in third place in the 8k Open B division. The women's side finished in 27th out of 32 teams in the 5k Open Division. 

On the men's side, White finished in sixth in the 8k with a time of 25:44. Jude Barry followed closely behind and finished just outside the top 10 in 11th with a time of 26:24. Cooper Lowe finished in 17th place with a time of 26:38. The men's side had three runners finish in the top 20 out of 100 runners in their heat. 

On the women's side, Valerie Noria led the Panthers finishing just outside the top 100 of a pool of 300 runners. She clocked a time of 19:31 against stiff competition ranging across all NCAA and NAIA division. Lily Fosmire finished going a 19:46 to finish 128th in the deep heat of runners. 

Both rosters will have two weeks to regroup before competing again at The Master's Cross Country Invite in Santa Clarita, Calif.
