ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team fell 6-1 to visiting Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday. The Panther continued to fight through a tough conference schedule of nationally-ranked teams.
The Sagehens rank in the top-25 of Division III as Chapman continues its way through one of the deepest tennis conferences in all of Division III. The Panthers pushed on the doubles point in the top-2 matches in the lineup. However, the Sagehens grabbed both matches 6-4 and clinched the double point in the match.
Malina Dahms captured Chapman's point with a three-set win in her singles match. After battling in the top doubles match, Dahms overcame a first set loss and won the third set tiebreaker to get the win on court five. Dahms ended up with a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4) victory.
The Sagehens captured the remaining singles in straight sets to stay unbeaten in SCIAC play.
Chapman heads to Redlands next weekend but returns home for the final match of the season on April 25 to take on Whittier in a SCIAC tennis doubleheader with the men's team.
