ORANGE, Calif. — Two early second half goals and a 2-0 victory over Redlands later, the Chapman University Women's soccer program has clinched a spot in the upcoming SCIAC postseason tournament. 2026 marks their fourth consecutive season punching a ticket to the postseason. The Panthers dominated against Redlands at home in the pouring rain Wednesday evening.
Five minutes into the second half, Chapman junior
Andrea DiVittorio launched a corner kick right into the middle of the box and
Nikki Zokaei sprinted in to chest the ball to the back of the net. Zokaei was so close to the goal line and rain started pouring so hard, that her teammates initially couldn't make out if she was the one who scored from the sidelines. She popped out of the scrum and pumped her fist in excitement to confirm their suspicions that it was her.
14 minutes later,
Grace Vasquez booted another corner kick from the same spot and DiVittorio headed the ball to the middle of the box, then
Alexis Sweeney punched it in to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead they would never relinquish.
Chapman will look to continue this momentum to clinch a home game in the upcoming conference tournament. They will head to Pomona-Pitzer to face the Sagehens on Oct. 24 at 11 AM.
