ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team fell 7-2 to No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer in its SCIAC-opener. The Panthers fell to 4-6 on the year with the loss.
After a loaded non-conference schedule, the Panthers embarked on their SCIAC schedule that includes three teams ranked in the top-10 in Division III. Pomona-Pitzer is ranked No. 2 in the latest ITA rankings, behind SCIAC rival CMS.
The Sagehens grabbed all three doubles points and captured straight set victories in courts 1-4.

Racquel Fhima scored the Panthers' two points with straight set victories at the bottom of the lineup.
Fhima won 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 6 match and Waite took the 6-3, 6-4 win in the No. 5 match.
The Panthers head to No. 8 Redlands for their first road match of the season on Saturday to take on the Bulldogs in a 10 a.m. match.
