ORANGE, Calif. — Alexis Golin clinched the women's tennis 5-4 victory over Cal Lutheran on Tuesday, April 16, with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 victory on court one.
The Panthers trailed 3-0 following doubles, but five victories in the singles matches propelled Chapman to its first SCIAC victory of 2024.
Olivia Desso, Lucy Erickson, Brooke Waite, and Racquel Fhima all won their singles matches to notch the score at four. Desso won 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Erickson and Waite took their matches in straight sets – 6-2, 6-1 for Erickson and 6-4, 6-0 for Waite. Fhima added a three-set win on court six, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.
The Panthers improved to 5-8 on the season and 1-3 in SCIAC play. Chapman returns to the court on Thursday in Eagle Rock to take on Occidental at 2 p.m.
