Zamora helps women's soccer to 0-0 tie

ORANGE, Calif. — Women's soccer notched its fourth tie of the season playing the La Verne Leopards to a 0-0 draw Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Wilson Field.

The Panthers had a golden opportunity in the 88th minute. Andrea Aldama forced an errand pass which Jenna Urrabazo corralled. Her shot from 30 yards out was tipped off the goalkeeper's hand, then the crossbar and eventually Aldama's foot and the back of the net.

Aldama was called offside resulting in no goal and a tie game.

The game wouldn't have been tied without some solid play from the Panthers' keeper Brianna Zamora. She finished with three saves, one a leaping save, pushing the shot over the top of the net.

Chapman's offense dominated possession, out-shooting the Leopards 16-7, but the Panthers were offside on three potential goal-scoring occasions.

Women's soccer will return to the pitch next Wednesday when they take on Occidental in Eagle Rock at 7 p.m.
