ORANGE, Calif. — After falling into a 2-0 hole, women's soccer battled back one-player down to play Texas Lutheran to a 2-2 tie on Sunday, Sept. 10 at Wilson Field.
It was an eventful first five minutes out of the locker room in the second half as Texas Lutheran, who took a 1-0 lead into halftime, scored quickly in the 47th minute on a penalty kick to extend its lead.
One minute and three seconds later, Andrea Aldama answered with a goal off a corner kick that ricocheted around the net and defense finding her right foot for the score.
Quickly after in the 51st minute Brianna Zamora was hit with a red card coming out of the box trying to make a save meaning the Panthers would play with 10 players the remainder of the game.
The disadvantage didn't matter as Chapman would strike again on a free kick from Jenna Urrabazo that struck the right post and bounced in the net to even up the score.
The Panthers had a few more good looks at a goal in the second half, but weren't able to convert.
The Panthers remain undefeated at 1-0-2 and will return to the pitch on Wednesday to take on Redlands in their first SCIAC and road contest of the young season.
